| Sieglinde
Battley trained as a graphic
designer in Frankfurt, Germany.
She lived and worked in
West Germany, Norway, Indonesia
and Iran before settling
in Australia in1978. She
holds a Diploma in Fine
Arts from Claremont School
of Art (W. A.) and a Bachelor
of Arts (Fine Arts) from
Curtain University (W. A.) |
| EXHIBITIONS |
| Since
1982 she has held 16 solo
exhibitions of her paintings,
drawings and original prints
with considerable commercial
and critical success. Her
work has been exhibited
in highly regarded galleries
in Germany (Cologne, Frankfurt,
Dusseldorf and Seligenstadt)
and in Australia most recently
at Olsen Carr Art Dealers,
Sydney, Greenhill Galleries,
Adelaide and Perth; and
at Editions Southbank Gallery,
Melbourne. She has exhibited
in numerous group exhibitions
throughout Australia during
this time. |

Since
receiving the Major Prize
in the Channel 7 Young Artist
Award in 1980,
Sieglinde Battley's work
has been recognised with
a number of awards and prizes.
These have included the
Telecom/Bicentennial Authority
Award (1987), the Robert
Holmes a Court Award (1989)
and the Perth Royal Show
Award for painting (1990).
In 1986 she was honoured
with an inaugural Fellowship
from the Creative
Development Fund of the
WA Arts Council. |

of large scale paintings
for the Globe restaurant
at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel,
Perth and a large painting
for the Commonwealth Department
of Finance in Canberra,

Burswood Casino. |
